The Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust (Trust) presents an opportunity to be part of one of Australia's most iconic tourist destinations and world leading Botanical Gardens.
Celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2016, the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney covers 30 hectares and is the oldest botanic garden in Australia and the nation’s oldest living scientific institution. It features an outstanding collection of plants from around the world in addition to being the home of the National Herbarium of New South Wales which contains more than 1.2 million plant specimens, including scientific and historically significant collections and samples gathered by Banks and Solander during the voyage of the Endeavour in 1770.
"Project Transform" invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced operators for the delivery and management of food and beverage services at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and Domain for periods of up to ten years.
Commercially viable and sustainable proposals are sought for one or more or all of the Trusts' three-existing and landmark food and beverage venues, comprising:
- Botanic Gardens Restaurant and Botanic Gardens Cafe;
- Pavilion Restaurant and Kiosk; and
- The Calyx and Calyx Cafe.
"Project Transform" will allow the Trust to continue delivering on its core objectives by:
- Encouraging the use and recreational enjoyment of Trust lands by extending the value proposition in visitor experience and wellbeing.
- Enhancing the value of Trust lands by creating sustainable and commercially viable opportunities to engage and delight the visitor.
- Creating unique destination experiences with exceptional hospitality that exceed visitor expectations and generate repeat visitations.
- Inspiring innovative designs with a sense of place that acknowledges the cultural, historical, environmental and educational significance of Trust lands.
- Promoting a service environment that reflects the value of the organisation and increases its overall capabilities.
- Providing leading and progressive user-friendly technologies to interact with the visitor in a safe and secure environment.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to help transform the delivery and management of Sydney's iconic Royal Botanic Garden and Domain food and beverage services.
