Prequalification Scheme - Audit and Risk Committee Independent Chairs and Members
To ensure strong governance, NSW public sector agencies are required to have independent chairs and members on their Audit and Risk Committees.
A panel of qualified individuals is open from which NSW public sector agencies are able to select independent chairs and members for their Audit and Risk Committees.

Members:
Individuals seeking prequalification for appointment as a member will possess a range of skills and experience including:

Extensive senior level experience in governance and management of complex organisations and a capacity to understand the ethical requirements of government;

Functional knowledge in a range of business areas;

A capacity to form independent judgements and willingness to constructively challenge.
Chairs:
Those seeking prequalification for appointment as a chair will further possess leadership and communication abilities along with a knowledge of governance, internal audit and risk management.
Full selection criteria are included with the scheme documentation. An interview with a selection panel may be required.
Prequalification does not guarantee that engagement as a chair or member of an Audit and Risk Committee will be offered.
