Design and construct marine park vessel - 18-0546

Tenders are invited for the design, construction, fit out (mechanical, electronic, electrical and safety equipment), Australian Maritime Safety Authority 2C survey certification and on-water testing of a suitable offshore vessel for Solitary Islands Marine Park operations. The new vessel will replace an existing vessel that is nearing the end of its serviceable life. A functional boat with maximum deck space, lifting capacity and tough (non-inflatable) sides is required to perform a range of marine park management and research tasks in coastal and offshore environments. These include: • Mooring deployment, replacement and servicing • Zone marker deployment, retrieval and servicing • Occupational SCUBA diving and safe transport of associated equipment • Provision of access to offshore Islands for marker and signage maintenance • Wildlife and other marine incident response • Baited Remote Underwater Video deployment, retrieval and servicing (up to 20kg) • Automatic Underwater Vehicle and Remote Underwater Vehicle deployment, retrieval and servicing (up to 100kg) • Acoustic telemetry deployment, retrieval and servicing • Routine single trips of up to 150 kilometres in open ocean waters • Crossing of coastal bars • Other general marine park duties as they arise
