Tender Details

This is the first stage of a multi-stage tender process.

There is one geographic area covered in this EOI that may be tendered for on an individual basis:

·                     Western Sydney Metropolitan Area

Services could also include the transportation of the Aboriginal young offender after hours from a police station to home or to their placement and Case support, and other bail related support services.

The accommodation program targets Aboriginal young offenders aged between 10-17 years (in the three areas outlined above) who are given police bail and who may be subject to the supervision of Juvenile Justice and potentially at risk of incarceration. It aims to provide a range of accommodation and support services which will maximise the opportunity for Aboriginal young offenders to access and successfully complete bail periods.

v      This program will require a flexible service delivery model, which will include:

v      The provision of supported accommodation for Aboriginal young offenders aged 10 - 17 years with access to this accommodation on a 24 hour 7 days a week basis including weekends and public holidays

v      Support and possible provision for other accommodation options for Aboriginal young offenders aged 10 - 17 years including temporary foster placements. This accommodation will be for the exclusive use of  JJ clients, being always available

v      Transport after hours where required from a police station by the  Service Provider to the Aboriginal young offender’s home or placement, or this could include a payment to family member to enable them to travel to the police station (e.g. petrol, hotel expenses if young person is far from family place of residence).

v      Case work support to Aboriginal young offenders on bail with a specific focus on family re-integration if appropriate.

v      Provision of specific interventions, education and/or programs in consultation with JJ staff, to address the needs of  Aboriginal young offenders and to reduce their risk of re-offending  

Provision of programs and activities specifically targeted to Aboriginal young offenders aged 10 -17 years, including access to educational pathways, vocational training, living and social skills training.
