ransport for NSW (TfNSW) are seeking a Contracts Administrator to provide contract administration support for the construction of a Maintenance Facility at Kangy Angy.

The role will be based out of the Kangy Angy site with two weekly visits to Chatswood for reporting and team coordination purposes.

The role will commence on 02 July 2018 (or any other date agreed upon with TfNSW) and be for a period of 20 months with 3 × two month optional extensions to be awarded at TfNSW's disretion.

Your role as a Contracts Administrator will involve:

  • Providing contract administration support for the project, ensuring the effective management of the Contract and the implementation of appropriate governance measures; 
  • Working collaboratively with the Project Team members, suppliers and various stakeholder groups to achieve best for project outcomes;
  • Review, assess and process payment requests and invoices (including under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act), undertake regular budget forecasting and cost reporting to manager, assist with negotiation of financial outcomes and obtaining prices or estimates for future works and variations; 
  • Assessing and valueing variations and contractual claims, ensuring that the requirements of the contract are met;
  • Supporting the identification, reporting and mitigation of project risks, including record keeping of personnel being used on the contract and their qualifications as required under Engineering Authority provisions;
  • Participating in the performance review and reporting for contractors and PSC’s, thereby contributing to the monthly reporting process, variation and claims reports and audit reviews; and 
  • Preparing, issue and respond to general correspondence in relation to the contract.

This role: 

  • Is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW); 
  • Will functionally report to the Commercial Manager, NIF Maintenance Facility; 
  • Will be required to interface on a regular basis with other divisions of Transport for NSW, as well as operating agencies such as Sydney Trains, NSW Trains, Roads and Maritime Services and other government agencies; and
  • Will also interface with external service providers including consultants and contractors.

Essential requirements:

  • 8 years Post Graduate experience (or equivalent experience if the candidate does not have Tertiary qualifications);
  • 5 years recent experience as a Contracts Administrator or Senior Contracts Administrator on rail, civil or construction projects with CAPEX value greater than $50 million;
  • Demonstrated experience in contract administration with specific examples of delivery experience working with claims, variations and budget forecasting;
  • Demonstrated experience meeting milestone deadlines whilst operating within a cross functional (or internal/external) team environment for a significant project over $50 million;
  • Demonstrated experience working independently (self-directed or minimal supervision) to contribute to an outcome of significant relevance to a project over $50 million;
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels; and
  • Must be computer literate and have excellent skills in using Microsoft Office packages.

Tenderer's must have:

  • Public Liability Insurance of $50 million per occurance and in the aggregate; and
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance of $5 million per occurance and in the aggregate.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as Quantity Surveying or Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
