Tender No: TNSW 2010/017 is offering 33 unrestricted class annual taxi licences for operation anywhere in the metropolitan Transport District (Sydney) An annual taxi licence may be renewed by the successful applicant on the payment each year of the tendered fee price up to 9 times – that is a maximum of 10 years of operation. The licence holder has a right to renew the licence, as long as they are meeting any conditions of the licence. An annual licence can be either owner/operated or leased, but cannot be transferred (sold) on the open market. An unrestricted class annual taxi licence can operate anywhere in the Sydney Metropolitan Transport District at any time of day. The licence conditions require that shift changeover occurs before 2.00pm and 2.00am so that that there will gradually be more taxis on the road at the traditional 3.00pm and 3.00am changeover period. This tender is to establish the annual licence fee for each of the 33 unrestricted class annual taxi licences being offered in the Stage 2 tender process that are available for anyone to apply.

Estimated Timeframe for Delivery
The applicant who is identified as the highest tenderer for an annual licence will be notified by mail of the outcome of the process and will be:
- required to lodge a completion bond, calculated at 15% of the tender price for the licence, within 7 working days from the date of the notice. Please note that Transport NSW will close on 24 December 2010 (4.00pm) and reopen at 8.30am 10 January 2011.
- given 90 calendar days from the date of notification to complete the process, or 30 June 2011, whichever is the earlier.
