Sydney Water provides water and wastewater services to customers located in its area of operations covering Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra.  Sydney Water performs a range of maintenance and upgrading activities on its water and sewer infrastructure assets. 

To support planned and reactive maintenance, Sydney Water uses a range of P&E with operator(s) on a temporary hire basis. The hire of P&E with trained and qualified operator(s) is known as “Wet Hire”. Examples of this include an excavator, truck or loader with operator(s).

 P&E Wet Hire Services are used for emergency call outs or pre-planned work activities.  As such, P&E Wet Hire services are used by Sydney Water at any time, 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours per day.

It is envisaged that a single P&E Wet Hire service provider will manage & coordinate provision of all labour, materials, equipment (including safety equipment) necessary to perform Wet Hire Services across the entire Sydney Water area of operations.

In the last twelve months Sydney water has “wet hired” approx. 8,800 hours of P&E.

An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender. Tenderers will be required to demonstrate in their tender that they have the necessary skills, resources, track record, financial capacity, insurances, licences, systems, accreditations etc to fulfil the tender requirements.  Of note, tenderers will be requested to provide evidence of a WHS management system that is accredited in accordance with the NSW Government Work Health and safety Management Systems and Auditing Guidelines – 5^th Edition. In order to receive notification of the event and gain access to the RFT documents when published in ARIBA, Tenderers are required to register their interest by sending the attached excel file “Ariba supplier set up form sourcing event“  to aribasupport@sydneywater.com.au and also cc ian.buchan@sydneywater.com.au . Once interest has been registered, Ariba support will send you a “Quick Reference Guide” which you will need to follow & complete to formally register your organisation in Ariba.

Please note, after opening, the registration period will have a closure date of 20^th November 2019 which is to be confirmed with one weeks’ notice.

Once the registration period is over the RFT is to be published in Ariba and properly registered proponents will then be able to download the Tender Documents from Ariba.
