Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) – Proposed Request for Tender (RFx) – UNIFORMS: PPC (Personal Protective Clothing) / Duty Wear / Laundry Services

 

FRNSW wishes to advise potential respondents to the above RFx of the following:-

 

 

  1. Expected Release date: It is anticipated at this stage that tender / market engagement documents will be issued via the www.tenders.nsw.gov.au site and the tender response period will open in October 2017. It is anticipated the RFT will be open for responses for a period of not less than 12 weeks.
  2. Testing / Certification of PPC to relevant standards.  It is planned to require suppliers submitting offers relating to PPC garments to have those garments certified to standard by the same testing house.  This testing house is to be VicLabs.
  3. An Industry Briefing will be held a week or more after tender documents have been released.  The briefing will be at FRNSW HQ at Greenacre in Sydney.

INDUSTRY TENDER BRIEFING

(Plus Optional Current Uniform Inspection Opportunity)

At Fire and Rescue NSW, Lowther and Barber Rooms,

Building A, 1 Amarina Avenue, Greenacre, NSW 2190

 

It is anticipated that a new tender for the above requirement will be released to market, via www.tenders.nsw.gov.au at the beginning of November 2017.

 

In conjunction with this, Fire and Rescue NSW wishes to provide notice to all interested potential tenderers that it intends to hold an industry tender briefing at its Headquarters premises in Greenacre, NSW on Wednesday, 22 November 2017 at 11:00 am.

 

The briefing will enable tenderers (who should have already have had opportunity by that time to have downloaded, read and started work on their tender responses) to attend a public overview briefing and ask questions tenderers might have. (Please note, tender questions can be lodged with the contact officer for the tender from the moment the tender goes live, and need not wait to be asked at the industry briefing.)

 

If you are planning on attending this briefing you will need to arrive ten or fifteen minutes before 11:00 am on the day, and sign in at the Reception Desk at 1 Amarina Avenue.  Note that parking on site at 1 Amarina Avenue is normally very limited and we would suggest you consider using free car parking at either adjacent Bunnings or the Officeworks / Gloria Jeans spaces in walking proximity to the 1 Amarina Avenue location.

 

If you plan to attend you must also email the following contract officer, at least 24 hours before, advising of names and company / organisation you represent with the phrase “Attending Industry Briefing Uniforms on 22 Nov” in the subject line of your email:-

ALSO NOTE:

On the same day, FRNSW will have available on display a complete set of its current uniforms, for interested parties to examine and / or photograph, if this may assist them in their bid.  Access to these garments will be organised on the day at a different room location on site at 1 Amarina Avenue.  The viewing times for these uniforms may have to be apportioned to avoid congestion.  In general, viewing times for the uniforms will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on the Wednesday, 22nd November 2017.

 Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) – Proposed Request for Tender (RFx) – UNIFORMS: PPC (Personal Protective Clothing) / Duty Wear / Laundry Services

 FRNSW wishes to advise potential respondents to the above RFx of the following:-

  1. Notice 1, issued via tenders.nsw.gov.au, stated that:- “Testing / Certification of PPC to relevant standards.  It is planned to require suppliers submitting offers relating to PPC garments to have those garments certified to standard by the same testing house.  This testing house is to be VicLabs.”  Consequent to this, FRNSW now clarifies it understands that in relation to clause 3.19.3.4 Water Vapour Resistance, the requirement for VicLabs to carry out this testing will be without NATA accreditation for this test only; it is acknowledged however, that the test method and equipment meet the required Standards. Therefore, FRNSW intends to maintain the intended requirement to require VicLab to carry out the testing for all AS/NZS 4967 Structural and 4824 Wildland requirements, as applicable to respondents’ offers.
