Inviting proposals to establish contractual agreements with suitable suppliers for 4th Generation BBT Monitoring System. Tender closing on 31 Oct 2019.
Sydney Trains is seeking proposals from suitable Tenderers to supply and maintain 4th Generation Bearing and Brake Temperature (BBT) Monitoring Systems. BBT Systems are required to monitor the condition of rail vehicles at locations within the Sydney Trains network. The monitored rail vehicles include all passenger and freight vehicles, and permanently rail-bound track maintenance vehicles operating in the metropolitan area.
The main purpose of the BBT System is to measure the condition of rail vehicles that traverse the Sydney Trains network as each vehicle moves through a BBT field site; and provide Signallers/Area Controllers a real time warning for train axle bearings and braking system elements that are operating outside of tolerance, and of intrusions into the undercarriage kinematic envelope (dragging equipment). The suggested procurement approach is an open tender with up to two top ranked vendors selected for a trial contract and subsequently, the successful vendor in the trial contract considered to be awarded with the main contract.
