Tender Details
Sydney Trains (Principal) is a New South Wales Government Agency constituted under the Transport Administration Act 1988 (NSW) and the Transport Administration (General) Regulation 2005 (NSW), with responsibility for the provision of passenger rail services within New South Wales.
(a) The Principal requires design, construction, supply, installation and testing/commissioning works to be carried out on the Blue Mountains line:
(i) at Mount Victoria and Lithgow to accommodate the New Intercity Fleet (NIF) services (Stage 1 - NIF Enabling Works); and
(ii) at Mount Victoria to re-signal and remotely control signalling from the Principal's Blacktown Control Centre (Stage 2 – Remodelling Works), (together the MVAR Project).
(b) The Principal has engaged a consultant as the design contractor to deliver the design for:
(i) the Mount Victoria Stage 1 – NIF Enabling Works Design; and
(ii) the Mount Victoria the Stage 2 – Remodelling Design, (together the Design Contract).
(c) The Principal will novate the Design Contract to the successful Tenderer, such that design and construction works will be delivered under a design and construct contract pursuant to which the successful Tenderer will procure:
(i) the Mt Victoria Phase 1 - NIF Enabling Works; and
(ii) the Mount Victoria Phase 2 - Remodelling Works, (together the Works).
(d) This RFT relates to design and construction works at Mt Victoria as described in paragraph (c) above.
(e) The Principal envisages that it is likely to (but will not be obliged to) direct the successful Tenderer to carry out the Lithgow Phase 1 - NIF Enabling Works and/or any part of the Lithgow Phase 2 - Remodelling Works as a variation under the Contract (Lithgow Option).
Tenderers are to note that a tender briefing session will be held on 14th Sep 18 and the site visit will be on 26th Sep 18. Please review the RFT for details.
