Tender Details

Sydney Trains and NSW Trains operate passenger rail services in the Sydney Metropolitan area and NSW regional area.

In the running and operation of its businesses, Sydney Trains and NSW Trains are large users of electricity. The total electricity offtake is defined under the categories of Bulk and Non-Bulk Electricity.

Bulk electricity is supplied into Sydney Trains’ privately owned distribution network through thirty-six interval metered bulk supply points. Sydney Trains’ private distribution network comprises a 132kV, 66kV, 33kV, 11kV and 2kV high voltage (HV) network and a low voltage (LV) network (Distribution Network).

Non-bulk electricity is defined as that electricity supplied directly into the rail infrastructure and facility supply points by third party distribution network suppliers (i.e. supply points not connected to Sydney Trains’ private distribution network).

Sydney Trains has a number of energy procurement and energy management related activities to undertake over the next 12 to 24 months and as such are seeking the assistance of a small panel of electricity advisers/energy consultants to assist in providing advice and support in the form of resources and expertise.
