Tender Details

 Sydney Trains(Principal) is seeking tenders from experienced and suitably qualified organisations (Tenderers) who can demonstrate that they satisfy the mandatory requirements set out below and who have a proven ability to meet the Principal's requirements to undertake Hydraulic Network Replacement Eveleigh Maintenance Precinct as described in Request for Tender document (RFT).   

The scope of the project involves the construction of a new water supply system (pipe works, valves and pumps) and subsequently cutting the supply to the existing network and re-connecting to the new PVC pipes, leaving the existing asbestos pipes undisturbed. The aim is to meet the Building Code of Australia and Fire Fighting Standards requirements, to minimise property damage caused by fire hazards and to ensure consistent fire protection measures across Eveleigh Maintenance Centre.  

Mandatory requirements are: 

  • Tenderer’s previous experience in rail or similar operational environment.

  • Tenderer’s proposed Designers with Authorised Engineering Organisations status

  • Ability to provide Safety, Environmental, Quality and Risk Management plans for similar projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to obtain $100 million public liability insurance, $5 million professional liability insurance and contract works insurance for value of the Contract +15%.

    Note:   Tenderers need not have the insurances stated above at the time of submitting the tender. However, if successful, Tenderer need to provide the certificate of currency for insurances before execution of the Contract.

  • Compliance with general requirements of the RFT including insurances, policies & statements and government programs (Ariba Tender Questionnaire in Sections 1 to 10)

  • Financial capability and capacity to perform whole of the Works (Ariba Tender Questionnaire in Section 2.3)

    Tenderers must note that, if successful in the Tender, all personnel working on the Sydney Trains network need to obtain Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card (Previously Rail Safety Worker/Rail Industry Safety Induction (RISI) Card). 

    Tenderers are to note that the Principal will conduct a pre-tender  briefing for prospective Tenderers as detailed below for which attendance is mandatory: 

    Thursday, 15th September 2016 commencing at 10:30AM at Eveleigh Maintenance Precinct, 136 Railway Parade Eveleigh. 

    Tenderers are requested to advise of their intention to attend the site meeting not later than 11:00 AM Wednesday, 14th September 2016 via Ariba Q&A board.
