Tender Details
Sydney Trains is responsible for the safe delivery of civil, track, signalling, overhead wiring, substation, cabling and communication, and facilities projects to maintain its assets. The projects include Bridge renewal and major maintenance, turnout renewals, track reconstruction, ballast cleaning, overhead wiring renewal, resignalling and Control system upgrades, Specialised Civil infrastructure maintenance, Communications and technology asset maintenance, including delivery of condition monitoring tools.
In order to improve the way it procures track, civil, geotechnical, signalling and electrical maintenance services, a Master Services Agreement (MSA) was established in August 2015, valid for four years with the option of extending up to a further five years.
The Master Services Agreement is a set of common agreed terms and conditions to procure the following categories of work:
- Civil works including bridge painting, bridge/footbridge refurbishments, culvert upgrades, drainage works and embankments/cuttings.
- Geotechnical: Devegetation and rock removal, Rock bolting, Fibrecreting & Shotcreting
- Track work projects: ballast cleaning, re-sleepering, track reconditioning, transoms, Re-railing & Turnout Refurbishments, Resurfacing Maintenance and Resurfacing Construction
- Electrical works including Contact wire renewal, Overhead adjustment and cable route construction
- Signalling works including points, signals, track circuits and train-stops.
This procurement event is specifically to:
- Add Suppliers to bridge painting sub category in accordance with MSA Major Periodic Review; and

Award Contracts for the sample sites nominated in the tender.
It is envisaged that the other panels for Civil and Geotech scope of works will be refreshed in the near future.

Sydney Trains will conduct a briefing session for all interested parties on Monday 16th April 2018 at 10:00 PM at 16-24 Elsie St, Burwood, L1, Ashfield Meeting Room. Please refer to tender document for details on site visits to sample sties.
