Tender Details

Supply Agreement for Wheel Turning of Diesel Fleet

Sydney Trains maintains the XPT (Xpress Passenger Train),Endeavour and Xplorer fleet for NSW Trains. The XPT consists of 79 cars. 28 Endeavour and 23 Xplorer cars maintained at Eveleigh Maintennce Centre. Wheel turning is an existing maintenance activity that is carried out across the XPT fleet due to flange wear and / or wheel defects. The objective of this RFT is to have a supply agreement with a service provider for the provision of wheel turning services. 
The wheel lathe facility must:
1. Have the ability to re profile wheel flanges without removing any wheel set or bogie.
2. Have the ability to re profile the wheel sets without damaging the rolling stock.
3. Must adhere to:
• Australian Standard AS 1940B1993: The Storage and Handling of Flammable and Combustible Liquids
• Australian Standard AS 4452B1997: The Storage and Handling of Toxic Substances
